Cold. Utter Cold.
Dear faithful readers:
By the time you read this, I may be dead. Frozen solid in the wake of this winter misery we are having. Last night, the low was 1.6° F (-16.9° C). I can’t remember it being this cold in my history here in Moab. It is supposed to be colder tonight.
Two nights ago, we got 8 inches of snow. This is the most snow Moab has had since I was a little kid. It is usually far too dry here to snow like that. Roads are slick and crunchy, and the contents of my sinuses freezes every time I go outside.
Honestly, snow is beautiful, and some part of me wants to like it. But I don’t. I like winter where the leaves turn colors, and fall off the trees, and that’s where it ends. It doesn’t need to snow, or even frost. I like that the seasons change, and there is a chill in the air. It’s sad that the weather makes it dangerous to travel, and too cold to go outside.
Here are a few photos of the snow in the yard.
Driving around town.
Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow, I am off on the train, headed for Winnemucca.
