This time of year is pretty boring in my plant collection. However, there are a few plants who are thinking about blooming.
Anthericum fruticosum (which I really know nothing about, except that it’s a very reliable bloomer, and it needs a new pot, obviously):
Gasteria bicolor v. liliputana (also a very reliable bloomer – has several inflorescences on it right now):
Haworthia picta:
Aloe albiflora hybrid:
…and that’s about it for now. Thanks for stopping by, reading, and commenting!

I think that you missed your calling, Katie. With your knowledge of cacti, and your green thumb, I’m sure that you could make a living growing and selling those beauties to the Moab tourists. Does anyone sell them at the farmers market in the summer?
Thanks, Uncle Tom. It’s hard to sell these sissies at the farmers’ market, due to the fact that they are non-native plants, and they don’t survive the winters outside here in Moab. On the other hand, if they get planted out doors, and die every year…I guess that’s job security for me.
Oh, don’t you just love it when plants gift you with a flower. you do have the magic touch with cacti. Uncle Tom is on the right path. There must be something you could do to turn this magic touch into something bigger.
Wow! Those are cool. I bet they’ll be beautiful when they do bloom. Shouldn’t be long now…
You’re certainly a good cactus mother. My cactus has never bloomed in the 20 odd years that I had it. It’s growing nicely, but no blooms.
Lorraine – Yep…but I can’t think of WHAT to do to take it further. I wish I could. Really.
Caryn – Nope, not to long. They’re all beautiful when they bloom. I am always happy when they give me flowers!
Aunt Marcy – Thank you! What kind of cactus do you have? Is it big?
Katie, I love the gnarliness of Anthericum fruiticosum! It’s a most interesting plant and I can’t wait to see your pictures of it in bloom.
Sonja (AKA ‘mom’) – The flowers are beautiful – they look like death camas.
